Cherokee Bluff Bears Defeat East Hall Vikings Despite 3-Run First Inning

The East Hall Vikings scored three runs in the first inning, but the Cherokee Bluff Bears prevailed 15-4 on Friday. The Vikings offense in the inning was led by Caden Crocker, Walker Barrett, and Drew Campbell, who all drove in runs.
Cherokee Bluff secured the victory thanks to ten runs in the third inning. The Bear offense in the inning came from doubles by Caleb Miele and Brett House, a single by Ethan England, a home run by Ty Corbin, and a sacrifice fly by Kaden Thompson.
The Vikings opened up scoring in the first inning, when Crocker doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
The Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears pulled away for good with ten runs in the third inning. In the third inning Miele doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. House doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs, England singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, and Corbin homered on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs.

Tucker Holton led things off on the hill for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. Holton lasted one-third of an inning, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out one and walking one.

Tyler Parker was on the mound for Vikings. The righthander surrendered ten runs on six hits over two and a third innings, striking out one. Barrett and Mason Simmons entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears tallied one home run on the day. Corbin went deep in the third inning.

England and Vokal each collected two hits to lead Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Miele had the most chances in the field with nine.
Christian McCullough went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Vikings in hits.
