Solid Pitching By Brady Stephens Shuts Out Morgan County, Cherokee Bluff Bears Take The Win

Brady Stephens didn’t allow a single run as Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears defeated Morgan County Bulldogs Varsity 10-0 on Wednesday. Stephens allowed just one hit.

Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears got things started in the first inning when Bryce England homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears notched four runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to walks by Caleb Miele and England, a fielder’s choice by Jacob Vokal, and an error on a ball put in play by Ethan England.

One bright spot for Morgan County Bulldogs Varsity was a single by Zach Moore in the fifth inning.

Stephens led things off on the hill for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on one hit over six innings, striking out seven.

Drew Ainslie started the game for Morgan County Bulldogs Varsity. Ainslie allowed seven hits and five runs over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Skylar McCoy threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears tallied two home runs on the day. England had a long ball in the first inning. Brett House had a dinger in the third inning.

Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears tallied 11 hits. Vokal, House, and Kaden Thompson all managed multiple hits for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. Thompson, House, and Vokal all had two hits to lead Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. Ty Corbin led Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.

Moore led Morgan County Bulldogs Varsity with one hit in two at bats.
