Pitching Impressive As Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears Beat Denmark

Both teams were strong on the mound on Thursday, but Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears defeated Denmark 3-1. Tucker Holton started the game for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears and recorded 18 outs.

Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Denmark committed an error, and Jacob Vokal hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

A single by Ty Corbin extended the Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Harper singled, and Beau Bruns doubled, each scoring one run. Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI sacrifice flies by Landon Kemp and Jacob Vokal.

Gabe Gowder started the game for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears and allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking one. Tra Taylor started the game for Forest Park.
