Landon Kemp’s Walk-off Gives Cherokee Bluff Victory Over East Forsyth
A walk-off single propelled the Cherokee Bluff Bears to a dramatic victory over East Forsyth Broncos, 4-3. The Bears were down 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Landon Kemp singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
Cherokee Bluff got things started in the second inning, scoring one run when Garrett Harper singled.
East Forsyth knotted the game up at two in the top of the sixth inning. Wyatt Barden singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Brady Stephens got the win for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. The pitcher surrendered two runs on five hits over five and a third innings, striking out five and walking one. Jacob Vokal threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Vokal recorded the last eight outs to earn the save for Cherokee Bluff.
Trey Farr took the loss for East Forsyth Varsity Broncos. The pitcher surrendered four runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out six.
Ethan England led Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears with two hits in three at bats. Bryce England was intentionally walked four times in tonight’s game.
